Iran recommends solutions to empower supervisory apparatus

JAKARTA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Republic of Iran recommended several solutions to empower supervisory apparatus in a workshop held by Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday.

"In order to empower supervisory apparatus, it is necessary to provide robust solutions," said Mohammad Hashem Rahbari, the country's deputy for supervision and inspection of affair pertaining to agriculture and production.

Firstly, he said, countries should simplify structures.

"With more simplified and flexible supervisory structures, we can expect more efficient supervision," said Rahbari.

Secondly, he said, utilization of information technology is badly needed.

"Perplexities of today's world will not be solved but by applying modern and updated technology," he said.

Thirdly, he said external relation could not be separated in improving supervisory.

"Interaction between supervisory organs and citizens as well as interaction of supervisory organs with supervised organs are the most significant approach for improving mechanism of supervision," said Rahbari.

Other recommendations included developing strategy and outlook, as well as improving human resources, among others.

"Supervising performance of state and government has been one of the great results of popular sovereignty which recognizes people as ultimate judges of their own destiny in history of mankind," said Rahbari.

The Iranian delegation joined a workshop held by the KPK on Wednesday to share its experience in tackling corruption.
