PYONGYANG, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has developed a new kind of chemical agent for washing marbles and granites, the official KCNA news agency said on Monday.
The agent was produced by the Pyongyang University of Construction and Building-Materials Industry. It could prevent granite, marble and other processed stones, the finishing building materials, from being stained and makes it possible to raise their decorative effect.
It was made from natural mineral matters abundant in the country, the report said, without elaborating on the material.
The new washing agent never corrodes the stones and the spent liquor does not pollute the environment, the report added.
