Moderate earthquake hits Taiwan

BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit Taiwan at 0:53 a.m. Thursday, according to China National Seismological Network.

The epicenter was initially determined to be 22.1 degrees north latitude and 120.3 degrees east longitude.
