ISLAMABAD, July 16 (Xinhua) -- An official of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was killed Thursday in firing in northwest Pakistan's city of Peshawar, local TV channel reported.
UNHCR Field Official Ibn-e-Usman was shot dead while resisting abduction outside the office in Katcha Garhi area of Peshawar in North West Frontier Province, and senior clerk and security guard were injured in the attack, the private TV channel Express reported.
The gunmen fled after the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The body and injured have been shifted to nearby Hyattabad Medical Complex, said Express.
The UNHCR office attacked was at a camp for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Bajaur tribal region.
A UNHCR spokesman was quoted as saying that he was aware of the incident but did not offer more comments.
