Chinese state councilor meets Mexican president

L'AQUILA, Italy, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo on Wednesday met here with Mexican President Felipe Calderon to discuss bilateral ties.

Dai, who was here to attend the outreach session of the Group of Eight summit on behalf of Chinese President Hu Jintao, conveyed Hu's greetings to Calderon, and the Mexican president also asked Dai to pass on his greetings to Hu, according to a press release issued by the Chinese delegation.

The two leaders agreed on join efforts to enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation, so as to boost the ties between the two countries.
