這項賽事的歷史可以追溯到古??帝??期，而且它的本意就是為了迎接春天的到來。所以那裏的人們都以參加這項賽事，為自己能夠成為奶酪勇士而驕傲。比賽是在一個斜坡上舉行 ，在裁判拋下一塊大奶酪的同時，所有參賽選手爭先恐後地以各種方式俯衝而下。由於很少有人能真正在抵達終點前將奶酪攬入懷中，所以第一個到達山腳的選手就算勝出。

At the sound of the judge’s starting bell, a 3 kilogram cheese wheel comes rolling out at high speed, and several seconds later the contestants all begin competing for the cheese , chasing it down the mountain side.
