China enjoys swimming success at world championships

Chinese swimmers have performed strongly once again at the world swimming championships in Rome.

Liu Zige won silver in the 200-meter butterfly and Zhao Jing took a gold in the 50-meter back stroke. Then, four Chinese swimmers took gold in the 200 meter women's relay.

Liu Zige wins 200m butterfly silver

In the 200-meter butterfly, Liu Zige dominated the first half of the competition, but Australian Jessicah Schipper rallied in the final lap to win in 2 minutes, 3.41 seconds.

That time broke the mark that American Mary Descenza set a day earlier in the preliminaries.

Liu Zige took silver in 2 minutes 3.9 seconds, also lower than the previous world record.
