Three years ago, Ngawang opened a business, leading a construction team to develop local infrastructure facilities. The business has been a success. Ngawang's family now earns an income of 200,000 yuan a year. The Panchen Lama encouraged Ngawang to help bring a better life to his fellow villagers.

Erdeni Gyaincain Norbu, 11th Panchen Lama, said, "You should take advantage of the current good opportunities and help poor families in your village achieve wealth."
