Police said the world record holder lost control of the car and plowed into a ditch. He injured his left foot when he got out of the car. Doctors treated the sprinter at a nearby hospital, and released him along with his brother and a female companion.

Bolt dropped out this weekend's Jamaica International Invitational after the accident.
