Canada and China gave their best in front of a capacity crowd of 5,700 hockey fans. It was team Canada who opened the scoring in the game, and they would hold that advantage at the end of the first period. 20 seconds into the second period, China used their power play well and Jin Fengling scored for the hosts.
Halfway through the period though, Courtney Unruh scored the second for the Canadians. And in the last period, Canada collected on a power play via Ravanne Reev to put the puck in the net to seal the deal for Canada as they took the Winter Universiade Ice Hockey gold.
