Special Report:   Harbin 24th Winter Universiade

China bag their fifth golds in speed skating. China won the women's team pursuit, and broke the Universiade record in the qualifying heat.

The Chinese women's team includes long-course champions Dong Feifei and Fu Chunyan, as well as 3,000m bronze medalist Ji Jia. In the qualifying heat, China clocked three minutes and 5.94 seconds, breaking the previous Universiade record held by the Netherlands.

In the final, the Chinese skaters finished their six laps in three minutes and 7.38 seconds, beating South Korea to second place. It was the first time for the Chinese trio to skate as a team.

On the men's side, Slawomir Chmura, Konrad Niedzwiedzki and Sebastian Druszkiewicz of Poland edged South Korea by less than a second.
