The 2007 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup raised its curtains on Monday. As one of the 42 test events to assess preparations for next year's Games, the event is part of UCI's annual series and a qualifying competition for 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Day one of the BMX Supercross World Cup opened with the men and women's time trials competitions. 32 male and 16 female riders advanced to the quarter-finals. Being regarded as the most difficult BMX track of the world, Beijing's Olympic track indeed challenged all the riders on the first day.

Zhang Kun, Chinese BMX rider, said, "The track was the most difficult one I have ever raced, it was really hard. We Chinese riders have less experience on such a difficult track. "
