21 relatives and colleagues of the victims of the Air France tragedy have arrived in Paris.

China's ambassador to France, Kong Quan, greeted them at Charles de Gaulle airport, along with senior officials from Air France. Kong Quan says the Chinese embassy staff will do their best to help the relatives of the victims cope with the situation.

The ambassador also called Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, CEO of Air France, to find out more information about the crashed jet. A meeting has been scheduled on Wednesday for Gourgeon to brief the relatives of the victims on the crash and relay what's being done in its aftermath.

The Chinese embassy in Paris initiated an emergency response plan after the Air France flight crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, with 228 people onboard, including 9 Chinese nationals.
