Intro:
Hello, I'm Tian Wei and welcome to "Dialogue" on CCTV International. For many, Tibet, with its natural beauty and wonderful people, is known for "Paradise of the Earth".
However, it practiced feudal serfdom for hundreds of years, until 1959. Only after when, the majority of Tibetans could ever have their own land to harvest on and personal prosperity.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the emancipation of millions of serfs and slaves in old Tibet, and the Tibetan regional legislature has endorsed a bill making March 28 the annual Serfs Emancipation Day in the region. Now, I'm joined in the studio by two experts to review the history and look at Tibet today.
