Tian Wei is the Moderator for CCTV's prime time talk show, "Dialogue", a daily interview program featuring domestic issues and international affairs. Her interviewees range from foreign state leaders to Chinese cultural icons. She is determined to bring China closer to the world and the world closer to China.

Tian Wei is also a regular anchor of CCTV's special coverage of important domestic and international events, such as: Sichuan Earthquake, Shenzhou Space Porgram, the annual National People’s Congress, etc. She is also active doing on-the-site reporting: during the Beijing Olympic Games by doing live exclusive interviews with Olympic champions, dignitaries and celebrities from all over the world.

Before joining CCTV, Tian worked in Washington D.C., providing up to the minute news and analysis about U.S. and international affairs. She was one of the very few female journalists from China at the time. From there, she covered the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. During her tenure, she also covered the Chinese Presidential and Prime Ministerial visits to North America.

Tian began her journalism career at China Radio International in Beijing. There, she anchored, hosted, and produced various programs and participated in the coverage of important domestic and international events. She enjoyed herself behind the microphone even as a DJ.

Over the years, Tian has received numerous journalism awards, including the highly acclaimed China's national award for international broadcasters and the National Journalism Award.
