Intro:
The annual gathering of politicians and business leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos is normally a time for celebration of the triumph of global capitalism – and a plea from those outside the magic circle to be allowed to join in.
This time things are very different. Chinese premier Wen Jiabao and his Russian counterpart Vladmir Putin have stolen much of the spotlight as participants discussed global coordination to handle the financial crisis in what amounts to a blame game.
We are joined here live by Mr. Mei Zhaorong, former Chinese ambassador to Germany and Mr. Joerg Wuttke, president of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China. In the second half we shall discuss Premier Wen’s tour of the EU headquarters and other European countries and why France has been bypassed.
