Jing Yuan, the residence of China's last emperor Aisin Gioro Puyi reopens this week in Tianjin. The complex has been closed to the public for restoration for almost a year.

It was built in 1921. A blend of Eastern and Western styles, the complex sprawls over 3,000 square meters. Puyi and his family fled to Tianjin, a city 120 kilometres southeast of Beijing in 1924 after they were expelled from the Imperial Palace inside Beijing's Forbidden City. The complex eventually became home to 40 households within two year's of the Emperor's departure.
