Special Report:   2007 Spring Festival

In our regular spot on the build up to the CCTV Spring Festival Gala we turn tonight to look at the performers themselves. This year, as ever, they come in all shapes and sizes but some in particular are drawing attention for their precocious professionalism.

These cute-looking kids will be some of the brightest stars on the big night. They are due perform in a variety of numbers, along with adult performers. But no matter how long they have been rehearsing these young professionals never seem to tire.

Alfa is from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and seems to have no worries about the pressures of performing before and audience of billions.

Alfa said, "Hi everyone! I'm Alfa. I wish everybody a happy Spring Festival! I'll perform an ethnic dance alongside my grandpa and my little brother for the big night."

Also joining the party is a group coming all the way from Tibet. They may not be professionals, but they're born dancers. As special guests of the gala, they determined to give a good account of themselves by treating viewers to their unique form of traditional tap dancing.
