Olympic food refers to the edibles that are supplied to the sports fields and stadium and the residential complexes for the athletes and officials for the duration of the Olympics Games. To ensure Olympic food safety, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine will select from among the food precessing factories with the best equipment and credit, which have obtained the National Food Production License. And supervisory officials will be dispatched to the factories to monitor the production throughout.

Pu Changcheng, vice director, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said, "We will implement a door-to-door secure supply model and every product will be labelled with an electronic code to allow strict supervision over its production, transportation and destination."
Pu says the government will implement the most rigid examination system at the Olympic food production enterprises. In spite of the few recent cases of problems with exported food, Pu says the Chinese food industry is of quite a high standard.
