BEIJING, Oct. 10 -- After many years of prospecting, Qinghai Province‘s Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources has discovered 106 confirmed gold ore bodies and a particularly large amount of indicated gold resources in a gold mine in Dachang, which is located in Maduo Township of Qumarleb County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

It is learned that some gold anomalies in the Dachang Gold Mine have not yet been evaluated and the depth of the discovered ore body is still extending. The long-term amount of gold resources is expected to exceed 300 tons, turning Dachang into a major gold resources development base in China.

Over the past nine years, the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Qinghai province has carried out comprehensive exploration of gold deposits in the Dachang area using a variety of means after discovering this mine in 1996 and conducting a preliminary evaluation over the subsequent two years. The Provincial Geology and Minerals Bureau plans to complete the prospecting work on main gold area by the end of this year and enter the development phase next year.
