Over the next three years, Fengtai District will focus on constructing a batch of rail transit lines, and urban trunk and secondary roads.

Of these, seven rail transit lines will pass through Fengtai District, including subway Line 7, Line 9, the second phase of Line 10, the first phase of Line 14, the Daxing Line light rail, the Yizhuang Line and the Fangshan Line. Once the construction of the rail transit lines is completed, an additional 77 kilometers of rail transit lines will have been put into operation in Fengtai District, significantly improving the rail transportation shortage issue in the area.

Reporters learned that six cross-district bus rapid transit (BRT) roads will be built in Fengtai District, including Puhuangyu Road, the southern extension section of Wanshoulu Road, the southern extension section of Majiapu West Road, the western extension road of Meishikou Road, Fengliang Road and Jingliang Road. Once the construction of the projects is completed, an additional 30 kilometers of BRT roads will have been put into operation in Fengtai District, further strengthening the region's traffic links with the four core urban districts.

Fengtai District held a press conference on the Beijing's southern development plan on the morning of November 9. Under the plan, Fengtai will be the only district to accommodate the extension of the city's urban functions. Fengtai District will construct a "two-belt and four-area" development structure on the basis of the "one-axis, one-belt and multi-development park" industry development layout in southern Beijing.
