On the path of reform and opening up, China has never stopped the efforts to be faster. In the last episode of 30 in 30, we look at the latest drive for an economic area to facilitate further integration and transport convenience.

It's a densely populated city compound and manufacturing base. The flow of logistics and people within the region create a soaring demand for fast transportation.

In December 2007, a project begins in three of 16 key cities in the region to adopt a compatible smart card.

In Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, cabs are ordered to install standardized electronic card readers.

Taxis in Shanghai and Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province are similarly equipped.
