Special Report: U.S.Presidential Election 2008US President-elect Barack Obama has nominated former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Announcing his choice on Thursday, Obama stressed the link between restoring the nation's dismal economy and making health coverage more affordable and accessible.

He said Daschle will also oversee a new White House Office of Health Reform with Jeanne Lambrew serving as his deputy.
Daschle described fixing America's health care as one of the greatest domestic challenges.
