China's second national economic survey is due to start soon, possibly on the very last day of 2008. Data taken from it will be released after October next year.

China's second national economic survey is due to start soon,  possibly on the very last day of 2008.

The purpose of the survey is to determine patterns of development in the manufacturing and service industries. The data will provide officials with information needed to draw up long-term policies. The survey will cover more than 8 million companies and 30 million self-employed individuals.
