In Beijing, the number one tourist attraction during the National Day Holiday week is the Olympic Green. That means the Olympic venues have achieved the remarkable, surpassing the legendary Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall as tourist spots. Crowds have been streaming to the site the National Stadium, also known as the "Bird's Nest".

Tourists from all over are taking in the festive mood at Tian'anmen square,where blossoms are set out in glorious array. Visitors are crowding the former Imperial preserve at leafy Houhai. Beijing's characteristic Hutongs are ever popular. But the Olympic Green outdraws them all. The site which was the main venue for the Olympics and Paralympic games has reopened to the public after closing briefly when the games concluded. The Bird's Nest, clearly is the jewel in the crown.

Mr. Shi returned to his homeland from abroad for the National Day holiday. Visiting the Bird's Nest was one of the things he wanted to do most, on his visit back home.
