Power grids in southwest China's Guizhou and central Hunan province are still threatened although the weather there has been improving. As of Sunday night, 9 counties in Guizhou were still enduring blackouts. In Hunan, repair work continues under very difficult circumstances. 130,000 electricians are working in disaster areas.
Gu Junyuan, chief engineer of State Electricity Regulatory Comm., said, "Our task now is to further know the situation in disaster hit areas, so as to organize repair work efficiently."
"Repair work has been going through with difficulty. Some transmission towers have been damaged again after being repaired. We are trying to restore power in most affected counties before Spring Festival."
