2006年7月的一個清晨，成都大熊貓繁育研究基地的大熊貓們像往常一樣在園子裏嬉戲玩耍，盡情享受飼養員給它們帶來的食物。
而負責它們健康的獸醫羅娌則急匆匆地從竹林中穿過。因為很多跡象表明，兩頭雌性大熊貓已經有懷孕待産的跡象。
It is an early morning in July 2006. The giant pandas in the Research Base of Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding are playing in their enclosures and enjoying their food provided by the zoo keepers.
Luo Li, a veterinarian for the giant pandas, hurriedly crosses the bamboo forests, aware that many signs have shown that two female giant pandas are about to give birth.
2004年8月，大熊貓二丫頭出現罕見的“難産”，雖然經過工作人員的盡力搶救，幼仔還是不幸胎死腹中。做為當時現場的一名獸醫，羅娌非常難過。奇珍奇緣能否順利生産，成為大熊貓基地工作人員心中放不下的石頭。吸取了以往的經驗，羅娌和同事加緊了對奇珍奇緣的觀察，通過對她們的尿液和雌激素的化驗分析，羅娌和同事們推斷出，姐妹倆個的預産期大約在8月2號到10號之間。2004年8月2日終於來到了，羅娌一大早就直奔奇珍奇緣的産房，然而，經過一天的等待，奇珍和奇緣並沒有生産的反應。
In August 2004, Er Yatou, a female giant panda, had a rare difficult delivery. Although the giant panda base staff tried their best to save the mother and cub, the cub died inside the mother. As one of the medical staff on the site, Luo li was very sad. Will Qi Zhen and Qi Yuan’s delivery go smoothly? The staff are still quite anxious and worried. Thanks to their past experience, Luo Li and her colleagues can observe the twin sisters with more scientific methods. According to their urine and hormone analysis, Luo Li and her colleagues predict that the twin sisters will give birth between the second and the tenth of August.
The second of August finally comes. Luo Li goes directly to the delivery room. But after an entire day of waiting, nothing happens.
熊貓寶貝們就像磁石一樣吸引著遊客。毫無疑問它們都是中國的國寶。
These panda cubs are a magnetic attraction for visitors from all over the world. There is no doubt that they are a national treasure of China.
