Vice Premier Li Keqiang meets Canadian finance minister

Vice Premier Li Keqiang has met with Canadian Finance Minister, Jim Flaherty. The Vice Premier says China and Canada should work together to tackle the global financial crisis.

He specifically warned against protectionism and says both countries should step up efforts in readjusting their economies to solve the problems that had led to the economic downturn.

Li also says that China attaches great importance to developing strategic and bilateral relations with Canada.

The Canadian Finance Minister says Canada will enhance bilateral relations with China in various fields. The trip aims to increase cooperation in the financial sector between the two countries.
