Chinese State Councilor, Dai Bingguo, has called his discussion with U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton "a good beginning" for the dialogue mechanism.

At a joint news briefing with Clinton on Monday afternoon, he called for both sides to cherish and further develop their positive ties. Dai said that China-U.S. relations, forged through the efforts of three decades of leaders from both countries, have achieved great progress. Hilary Clinton called her conversation with the State Councilor a "very good" one.
