Torrential rain triggers flood in Guangxi

In Rongshui County, half of the 20 townships reported rainfall measurements of 100 to 200 millimeters from Wednesday to Friday. The worst hit was Dalang Township, which recorded a 402 millimeter deluge. The downpour forced 47,000 people in the county to leave their homes.

The local meteorological department issued the red rainstorm warning on Friday.

In Luocheng county, the Kama Reservoir flooded, and the water flow from the spillways destroyed a 13.5-meter section of a dyke near the base of the reservoir dam.
