Local scholars and Chinese communities in Slovakia say they hope Hu Jintao's visit will help boost bilateral ties.

To an increasing number of Slovakians, especially the younger generation, China is synonymous with a long history and exotic culture.
A former Slovakian ambassador to China has born witness to the growing China fever in his country and he's committed to bring about more cultural exchanges.
Once a member of the Eastern bloc, Slovakia joined the European Union four years ago. In the past few years, it has been one of the fastest growing economies in mid-eastern Europe.
And in its development process, China has been an important trading partner. Last year, bilateral trade grew by more than 30 percent..with a total trade volume of 3 billion US dollars.
The Chinese business community has felt tangible benefits from improved trade ties.
Wang Haihong, who is a Chinese Expat, said, "In the past two years, the bilateral relations keep improving. The life and work of our expats here keep better too.
And President Hu Jintao's visit to Slovakia is set to give a welcome boost to mutual understanding and bilateral ties.
