President Hu Jintao confident about Sino-Russian ties

President Hu Jintao has also expressed his confidence in the future development of China-Russia relations. He is urging the two countries to further strengthen their cooperation amid complicated international circumstances.

During a joint interview with Chinese and foreign media in Moscow on Thursday, Hu Jintao noted that the strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Russia has witnessed healthy development since its inception 13 years ago.

He also praised the close and fruitful bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Hu Jintao noted that as major players both in the SCO and BRIC, China and Russia have steadfastly supported each other on various key issues. Among them sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national security.

President Hu also expressed optimism over the future prospects for the China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation.
