French nuclear sub joins recovery effort for black boxes

A French nuclear submarine has arrived at the Air France Flight 447 crash zone, off the coast of Brazil in the Atlantic Ocean.

A French armed forces spokesman said the sub would join the race to find the plane's black boxes.

Commander Christophe Prazuck, Defense Ministry Spokesman, said, "The nuclear submarine 'Emeraude', a French nuclear submarine, has arrived on the scene of action and she has started her first patrol in a 20 by 20 nautical mile box area. She will operate her sonars in order to find the acoustic emission of the black box."
