Special Report: Air France jet vanishes |
Brazilian naval ships have recovered debris that they believe is part of an Air France jet, which crashed into the Atlantic this week.
The military says its focus is now on recovering the wreckage as there's so far been no signs of human remains.
A Brazilian helicopter crew recovered the first wreckage from Air France Flight 447 on Thursday pulling a cargo pallet from the sea.
Two buoys, standard emergency equipment on planes, were also recovered from the Atlantic Ocean.
Ramon Borges Cardoso, Brazil Air Gorce General, said, "The material has already been collected and is on board the Constitution ship. This afternoon we will analyze it to check if this is part of the plane or not, taking into account that the air force pilots have informed us that apparently these were pieces of cargo ships."
