Global number of A/H1N1 infections exceed 15,500

The World Health Organization says as of Monday, more than 15,500 cases of A/H1N1 flu have been confirmed in 54 countries and regions.

The US is still the worst hit, with over 7,700 confirmed cases and 11 deaths. Mexico has 85 deaths, and nearly 5000 thousand cases. China has reported 10 new cases, bringing the total number to 34 on the Mainland.

Newly confirmed cases were also reported in other countries and regions, including Britain, France, Argentina, Panama, Uruguay, South Korea, Israel, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
