The latest patient is a 19-year-old student who came back from the United States.

He flew from New York to Beijing, and then to Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, where he was discovered to be infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus.

He visited a hotel and some bars in Beijing and his home in Changsha before being put under quarantine. He is now showing signs of recovery and a team of medical experts is treating him.

Local authorities are tracking people who might have had close contact with the patient, and they will be put in quarantine for seven days. Hunan's Center for Disease Control has informed 23 other provinces and municipalities about the case, as passengers on the same plane went to these regions.
