In Geneva, the World Health Assembly has closed with the adoption of resolutions on a variety of global health issues. A major concern is being prepared for an influenza pandemic.

In her closing remarks, WHO Director-General, Dr Margaret Chan, again warned governments of the danger and unpredictability of the A/H1-N1 virus. She said it's expected to continue to spread to new countries and within those already affected.

Dr Chan called for every country to readjust prevention measures to suit its own situation and ability. The W-H-O says vaccine companies across the world are preparing for production by the end of June or the beginning of July.
