Many of China’s cities have experienced rapid development since the opening policy was introduced in 1978 – among them, Hangzhou.
Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, is one of China’s most famous and most prosperous cities. It is a place that has cleverly combined its natural advantages with modern industry, in order to establish itself at the forefront of the leisure economy; it’s also a place where the people appreciate peace and happiness and have managed to incorporate them into their everyday lives.
Li Hong, director of the Hangzhou Tourism Committee, and Yang Wei, president of Zhejiang University, will come to the Up-Close studio, to share their stories about Hangzhou and its development in the areas of tourism, education, and the economy.
The lucky studio audience will see at first hand some examples of Hangzhou brocade, and also sample the famous Longjing tea, which is produced in Hangzhou. Join us on Up-Close, to learn how Hangzhou has transformed itself in the past 30 years.
