One of the first things that struck me about Xinjiang was how beautiful and varied the landscape was. At times, I felt like I was in New Zealand, surrounded by open fields, SHEEP and snow-capped mountains and at other times, in Morrocco, buying spices and nuts from the local market. I’ve only been in China 3 months and it was so refreshing to find the varied cultures of the minority groups tied into Han Chinese culture.

I won’t tell you about every part of the journey because it’d be the length of a mini novel, I’ll just focus on the sights that were particularly significant to me and give you the low down behind the scenes for the 3 episodes we filmed in Xinjiang.
