Shenzhen is located in the very south of Guangdong province. Overlooking Hong Kong to the south and bordering Kowloon.
Chinese contemporary art and music has got well developed in Shenzhen. The modern stage shows arranged in the theme parks could gather hundreds and thousands of gifted dancers and musicians demonstrate their artistic capability. There is a saying that Shenzhen is the capital of center stage that draws together the most beautiful girls in the nation. Large investment plus unrestricted architecture stage design, Shenzhen is capable to provide visitors with incredible entertainment shows and colorful nightlife activities.
The population of the city is about 8 million, only half of it are legally registered permanent residents. The remainders are a mixture of businessman, labor workers, entertainment employees from Mainland China and commuters from Hong Kong, all here in an attempt to get a share in the Special Economic Zone’s wealth.
The generous feeling however is that the city is full of migrants whom are young and talented. They more or less have to left everything in behind come to try their best luck in career. As a result, most people here do not hesitate to open their minds and accept various challenge in life.
On the other hand, the absence of history and culture make Shenzhen seem almost desolate and the abundant wealth and investment creates the prosperous atmosphere in the city. The best example of which are those humongous leisure projects such as The Window of the World, China Folk Culture Park, Minsk Marine Ship Yard, and much more developments scattered among the high rises.
The window of the world
The Window of the World has gathered 118 world legendary tourist spots that include Elf Tower of France, Pizza Towner of Italy, stone church of Germany and the White House of America and much more exotic programs.
The park opens in 1994. It covers an area of 480,000 square meters, the total investment of which is 650 million of RMB.
Fun
At the window of the world, visitors can also participate in numerous thrilling activities that specialized in the theme park. High drop waterfall gives tremendous pleasure; in door ski slop provide top of the line enjoyment and newly developed high tech theater can take you to the space world touring the mysterious universe.
At every night starts from 7:30 pm, the global theater will launch a massive stage performance. It engages of more than 500 talented actors whom come from all over the world. It is a combination of music, dance, fashion show, acrobat, and all kinds of special stage effects of light, sound and electronic settings. It is a one of the kind stage that consume more than a year construction for completion. The total cost is more than 80 million RMB. As a symbol, there are total of 108 columns around the stage and 1,680 square meter of carving wall surround it. There is a saying that Shenzhen attracts many beautiful girls, and most of them are on this stage.
Firework is the phenomenal by the end of each performance, it lights up the stage, it empower Shenzhen with energy.
Sunset
The “Grand Century” program presented at the glass ball theater is one of the splendid events in Shenzhen. It is well recognized in China in show business by its aspect, scale and organizing power. There are more than 500 performers, 300 musicians, 200 back stage staff and utilize more than 5000 kwz electric lit up almost 8,000 lights, and occupies about 2,000 square meter of landscape for one night show.
China splendid
China splendid featuring the Palace of Beijing and a great numbers of historical scene such as the Great Wall and China Southern Silk Town. It features 82 sceneries with the ratio of real subjects to duplicates is 15 to 1.
Wazu is an ethnic group inherited from south China that somehow has many similarities with Yee and Miao groups. For many years, Wazu have been living by the river that they are very good at fishing and water activity. Singing and dancing is a wonderful doings for spare time.
Urger minority, on the other hand is another musical and energetic ethnic group, they are living on the high plateau spread out in the far west of China next to Russia. The hospitality of Urger is vivid and appealing.
Turkish like dance is good lesson for my trip
There are many other performances presented by different ethnic groups that highlight the China Splendid theme park such as Water Festival of Thai, Thai girls dance like water the boys support girls like strong tree truck. Peacock is the symbol of good luck. There are many other activities such as knife climbing of Thong is rare to see, man climb on the sharp edge of knife with bare foot is thrilling. And the massive chore of tribe singing is somewhat impressive. Then the horseback acrobat, weapon fight competition of Mongolian is exciting.
As we travel around in Shenzhen, there is no question that outstanding numbers of beauty spread out the city that you can’t miss the scene. Wherever woman lives, there is fashion. Modern fashion shows choreographed with stage performance offer to the audience every night at the Window of the World. Visitors cannot only spot various Chinese ethnic designs, but also have the opportunity to observe international trend. The show features more than 24 minority culture domestically and few notable global highlights. If you are lucky like me, you can also participate the show as a guest of wedding ceremony. My pretend bride is cute and her exchange gift is hot and spicy.
Happy valley
Extreme sport provides more exciting moment for our young visitors. Professional players are from America and Canada. They are bringing new street skills to our Chinese audience. I believe Chinese traffic controllers are not so impressive if the local youth will bike on the street in American style
Happy valley is a best spot for family out in a weekend. You can enjoy the excitement rides, but remember do not eat breakfast beforehand.
Goodbye ride. I am done I will not take the ride again in the rest of my life.
Historical Shenzhen
Shenzhen has more than 1600 years of history. It was a fishery town before 1972 when china government initiated the city as the first example of Special Economic Development zone in the country.
Peng Cheng is the former name of Shenzhen. It is kept well in its original surroundings after all these years reforming. General Lai once a war hero who was the leader in Guangdong province to protect the south gate of China. His resident still exists today. Even his family members are still living in the inherited house. This is a huge mansion that has three large courtyards with many side rooms as well for guards and servants. The decoration in front the gate shows the respect that General Lai has received from the community, remaining architecture design is well kept today that reflect General Lai’s position in the society.
Due to the economic changes nowadays in China, many residents have moved out of the old town. In the meanwhile, people from the faraway villages moved in for new jobs. However, the lifestyle has not changed much here.
Just about 80 kilometers away from the modern commercial district, there is a small township called Peng Cheng that resembles the past of Shenzhen. Peng Cheng has about 600 years of history and the local villagers annually will hold a festival to celebrate the past. Lion dance is the high spot at the end of the parade.
Sailing on the ocean is my best experience during this trip. I not only learned how to play with the sails, but also open up my mind of being alone on the sea. Guess what the guards wont leave me alone, they are with me at all time.
Minsk Marine ship presents a sincere military march daily on the platform. The 30 soldiers team is act like one union, they has been professionally trained in the military for more than 10 years and use to share the pride in China largest march competition.
Minsk Marine Ship is made in Russia in 1978. It is the fifth largest marine ship in the world. It is use to play an important roll in Russian Navy. It was fully equipment with the powerful weapon including missile, rocket and warplane. At the end of 1991, the Russian military has changed its power overnight and Minsk ended its service immediately.
In 1998, Minsk was tolled to China.
Minsk Marine Ship, the one time Russian lethal weapon is no longer a threat to anyone. Its mechanical beauty and powerful setting now is a theme park in Shenzhen. Today many entertaining projects such as stage dance, indoor theater and museum have been coordinated by the new owner to recollect the history.
All right, it is New Year here. This is the local villagers preparing for New Year Party. It is a rehearsal now. People all dress up in different color of uniforms. Next to me is a wedding rehearsal.
