In many years ago, there was a war going on the land of Jing Gang Shan. 70 years later, Jing Gang Shan has changed tremendously. In the following program I will show you the beauty of Jiang Gang Shan.

Jing Gang Shan is a massive mountain, lying between the two provinces of Jiangxi and Hunan. There were only five villages, at that time, in this region of 900 square kilometers. Most of the families were Hakkas originally from North China. The total population was less than 2000; they were so poor that only a few of them had more than a pair of trousers. But Jing Gang Shan became a well-known city because of Mao Zedong and his Red Army.

On September 8, 1927 Mao Zedong led a group of peasants and staged an uprising, which was called Autumn Harvest Uprising in Hunan province. The insurrection failed miserably and Mao Zedong was captured by the militia group. But, somehow he escaped.

The following month Mao Zedong congregated about 800 men and 80 rifles, the remnants of the uprising. They climbed the Jing Gang Shan with the intention of establishing a revolutionary base in these mountains.
