Back in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province which is about 40-minute drive from Qingyan, I visit one of the most famous bookstores in town. It's called Sisifu, with probably derives from the famous Greek God. Sisyphis. The lovely thing about coming here is that this bookstore encourages you to read in the shop, not something that's welcomed in too many places. I made an appointment with Jenny, an Australian who has spent years around here and fell in love with Guizhou.

She told me that the combination of natural wonders and the people impress you most here in Guizhou. There is really remote village and people living there in very very difficult environment and the things they produce in a very harsh environment. And it's not like you go to a place and see what people used to do.

Few people call Guiyang an international cosmopolitan city, but nobody would deny that it's would be an ideal place to live. Everything here is convenient here, plus you have ample supply of fresh flowers vegetables, fruits year round.

Night life in Guiyang includes an ample choice of restaurants. But one place you can't miss is the night food street. Here you can find local snacks from all corners of Guizhou. The vegetable wrapping is called Siwawa, probably because it looks like a wrapped baby bundle. All the stands are incredibly cheap and you can count on it being tasty because this street will be alive with customers until the small hours of the morning.

At Jiaxiuyou, Guiyang's hallmark building I concluded my trip to Southwest Guizhou, fulfilling my promise to myself to revisit the region and starting to plan yet another next trip back.

For ethnic cultures, visit Southeast Guizhou, for natural wonders, Southeast Guizhou. Whatever you're looking for, you鈥檒l find it here. This is Travelogue. I am Liu Changing.
