Creatures of Shen Nong

The summit of Shen Nong reaches 3,105 meters high and its unique position creates variation in weather conditions for every 100 meters you climb.

There is an abundance of more than 4,000 plants and 1,050 diverse animals living in these wonderful mountains.

In the early morning, a great number of little swallows birds rush out of the cave and fly to the sun light. The humongous natural caves in this region has attracted many ocean swallows, millions of white belly birds have been living in the cave for who knows how many zillions of years. The little dot eyes swallow has very bad eye vision and they can only travel solely by sound frequency. When visitors walk into the cave, these little birds constantly pump into their bodies.

The forest contains real wild animals, such as Tigers, bears and Monkeys like the Golden Snob Nose Monkey. The monkeys are commonly observed by researchers, they live in-groups of social ranking and of course there's a king who gets all the respect in most situations.

If a monkey leaves the family troop for any reason he will be labeled 'a traitor' and therefore will no longer be accepted by the community. Left to live his life alone for ever There's no forgiveness in the monkey community. The local animal protection center has adopted many troubled animals in the past, they help them in whatever way needed in the hope to release them back into the wild, back to their natural environment.

Local people have named the natural habitat to match its appearance or personality. For instance, one of the Rocky Mountains, that overlaps a waterfall, is named Natural Bridge; A swift waterfall dropping river is called Wild Horse River; and a large cluster of pine trees is represented with the unique name of Green screen銆
