You might also feel half- reluctant to visit new part of the town as a tourist initially but. But if you seek a good cross section of modern-day Qingdao faces, as well as sense the real beat of the present city life, a visit to Wusi and Music square is essential.

Wusi square is a popular gathering place in new town, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. It can be recognized far way by this flame torch sculpture, the statue of 'The Wind in May' (the May 4th Movement of 1919). It was from Qingdao that this patriotic movement against foreign invasion and treaties forced over China, was lighted up and spread over the country afterwards.


Music Square is the biggest square in Qingdao, and biggest musical square in China. During the summer, many outdoor concerts are held here and even being a tourist yourself can play your own melody over there!
