When it comes to China, most people would think of silk, it's even more so in Hangzhou, as the place has long been a centre for silk trade.

As far back as 4,000 years ago, people in this region were weaving silk.If you go back a millennia, Hangzhou's silk trade was hitting a eak. Today Dujinsheng Silk is one of the oldest names in the business. The company's rich colorful designs are actually woven into the fabric instead of just printed on the surface.

You have to strike out on your own to find this place. Dujinsheng has moved its silk factory out of downtown Hangzhou but there's still one workshop in the area where you can see how the beauty evolves. It's all there - from the silk worm cocoons to the final design. All the patterns are firstly laid out on the plates. Then the machines weave the luscious fabric. There are as many as a thousand kinds of patterns.
