Born and raised in the small community of Athabasca, Alberta in Canada. Jonas graduated with honors from the Radio and Television Arts program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2003. Since that time he has worked in television in Canada. Over the years he has reported, anchored and produced for both news and sport broadcasts in Canada. But sport broadcasting is his passion and it is where he has focussed his career.
Jonas arrived in China to begin his work with Sports Scene on CCTV International in mid-May 2009.

About me
A big hello, or should I say Ni Hao, to everyone from this Canadian...eh?
I grew up in the bustling metropolis of Athabasca, Alberta (pop. 2,500). Like many Canadians, a large portion of my youth was spent on the rink and on the golf course. I learned to play hockey on the ice of the Athabasca Arena in the winter and golf on the fairways of the Athabasca Golf and Country Club in the summer (best course in Northern Alberta, hands down!).
While those two sports were my main athletic endeavours growing up, I dabbled in just about everything and have a deep love for all sport. I consider myself very lucky that my job is basically, talking about it. Not too bad at all!
I am extremely excited to be starting this new venture and adventure with Sports Scene here in Beijing. Sport has a proud history in China and a strong place in the culture. It is going to be a great experience to bring this to you. Hopefully, we are able to bring the rest of the world with it as well.
If you have any questions or ideas on sport you would like to see discussed, please feel free to contact me. I am going to be starting a blog here in the near future and it will be a great way to keep in contact with you.
