Ramirez is a 12-time selection for MLB's All-Star game; a World Series' MVP in 2004, when he led Boston to a four-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals, and a scorer of 533 career home runs.
The LA Dodgers star said he did not take steroids, but was given medication by a doctor that contained a banned substance. Ramirez will begin his suspension immediately, and will lose about 7.65 million U.S. dollars of his 25 million annual salary.
