RIO DE JANEIRO, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of the Brazilian national soccer team, Dunga, confirmed Thursday that he and his staff are carefully watching Ronaldo.

The declaration comes just weeks before Dunga will have to prepare his roster for the team's upcoming games for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup.

"It is the first time since the 2006 World Cup that Ronaldo has had a sequence of 10 good games. The tendency is that he will only get better. Every player who is in activity dreams of playing for the national team. Ronaldo is under our close watch," said Dunga.

The head coach personally went to watch the forward during the final match of the Sao Paulo state championship on May 3. Ronaldo had a mild performance, but helped to lead his team to the state title.

Dunga will have to make his decision of which players will represent Brazil in the upcoming matches by May 21. In June, Brazil will play Uruguay and Paraguay for the World Cup qualifiers. After that, the national team will travel to South Africa to compete in this year's Confederations Cup.
