RIO DE JANEIRO, May 2 (Xinhua) -- On the eve of the return and final leg of the Sao Paulo state soccer championship on Saturday, the Corinthians soccer team took the day easy.

The team will face Santos in the state's final match on Sunday. Corinthians has the comfort of being able to lose by two goals in front of their home crowd. Should the team win, it will be Ronaldo's first title won in Brazil.

Ronaldo achieved two of his major career victories in the year 2002. In Japan during the World Cup, Ronaldo led his team to victory. Additionally, in that same year in Japan, Ronaldo helped his Spanish club team of Barcelona to victory in the World Championship of club teams.

Again, outside of Brazil, Ronaldo was a member of the 1997 and 1999 American Cup winning team. In Bolivia and Paraguay, respectively, Ronaldo led his team to the continental title. Additionally, in 1994, although not having played one single game, the athlete was a member of Brazil's fourth title in the World Cup.

Despite his many accomplishments, Ronaldo has never had the pleasure of personally lifting up a trophy to the cheers of "champion." A victory, tie or even a loss by the difference of no more than two goals in May 3 will give Ronaldo the opportunity to do so.
