Higginson put together a calm clearance to level the match score at 5-all.

Murphy, the 2005 champion, fell behind at 7-6 but managed to even the match at 7-all.

Murphy then doubled his advantage with a clearance of 101 for 9-7 lead, and he went on to close out the match with a 69 to secure a spot in the last 16.
